The village of Pescocostanzo, nestled between the mountains of the Alto Sangro Mountain Community and the Cinquemiglia Plateau, lies on the slopes of Monte Calvario, offering breathtaking views of the Quarto Grande plateau basin.

A short distance from the town, the Roccaraso Alto Sangro ski area, the largest in Central and Southern Italy, with over 100 km of slopes, is a true gem for snow lovers, featuring trails suitable for both beginners and more experienced skiers.

Enthusiasts can enjoy the large snowpark, try their hand at free-ride routes, rent snowmobiles, explore ski mountaineering itineraries, or be enchanted by snowshoe excursions. The little ones will find games, slides, snow tubing, and two ski schools in the baby garden, ensuring safe and unforgettable days in the snow.

A place where the mountain and snow take centre stage, perfect for experiencing unique adventures amidst extraordinary landscapes and the authentic charm of Abruzzo.

Pescocostanzo offers many activities linked to its historical and cultural sites, including numerous museums and important architectural structures.

Walking through the village allows you to experience its history and ancient traditions, with paved streets, historic buildings, and beautiful churches creating an authentic atmosphere. In the main square, Piazza del Municipio, stands Palazzo Fanzago, which hosts the Museum of Artistic Craftsmanship and the bobbin lace school. The oldest part of the village is home to several noble palaces, mostly in Baroque style, such as Palazzo Coccopalmeri, Palazzo Colecchi, Palazzo Mansi, Palazzo Cocco, Palazzo De Capite, Palazzo Ricciardelli, Palazzo Mosca, and Casa Rainaldi.

The most prominent monument in Pescocostanzo is the Basilica of Santa Maria del Colle, known for its rich details and numerous preserved works of art.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the village is an ideal starting point for excursions and activities such as visiting the Bosco di Sant’Antonio, a beautiful beech forest perfect for trekking, horse riding, and hiking to discover the Eremo di Sant’Antonio.

Pescocostanzo is a popular destination throughout the year, offering activities for nature lovers and ski enthusiasts during both winter and summer seasons.
